Lady Gaga ‘doing unbelievable’ post-surgery, working on new music
Lady Gaga is “doing unbelievable” a month after undergoing hip surgery that prompted her to cancel her world tour.
The pop star is “doing wonderful, doing great” and “ready to get back to work,” her manager Vincent Herbert told the New York Daily News.
Gaga, 26, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, had to have the surgery as a result of a concert injury that rendered her immobile. She hid the injury from her staff for some time but finally announced that she was hurt when she could no longer walk.
The “Born This Way” singer suffered “a labral tear of the right hip,” according to promoter Live Nation, and was forced to cancel the remainder of her tour. After the surgery, she needed “strict down time to recover.”

The singer is also gearing up for her new album called “Artpop,” which she started work on during her “Born This Way Ball” tour, E! News reports.
Her new work is “very, very refreshing” and Gaga will continue to “push the envelope,” her manager added.
“I can’t wait for the world to hear her new music and see her come back healthy, strong and better than ever,” Herbert said.
The singer took to Twitter in early February to apologize to fans for canceling a few shows just days before canceling more than 20 dates on her two-year world tour.

Post-surgery, Gaga thanked fans and said they had given her “a lot of strength” during her ailment.
“Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you’ve shared with me about your lives,” she wrote. “Meeting you backstage, reading your letters, watching you communicate with fans from around the globe to form a community that supports one another -- You have completely blown my mind.”
The fashionista also made her recovery quite stylish when word got out she had a 24-karat gold-plated wheelchair custom made by jewelry designer Ken Borochov.
The chair has a removable canopy and a leather jacket-inspired tufted leather seat, according to the Daily Beast. This chair is not to be confused with her first wheelchair, which she named “Emma.”
