NBA great Patrick Ewing lists New Jersey home for sale at $7 million
Retired Hall of Fame basketball player and NBA coach Patrick Ewing has put his home court in Cresskill, N.J., up for sale at $6.998 million. Alternatively, the all-brick Colonial-style house can be leased for $25,000 a month.
Set on about two acres in Tamcrest Estates, the estate was built in 2000 and has a motor court with two gated entrances.
The 10,524 square feet of living space includes a grand foyer with a sweeping staircase and a double-height living room that opens to an eat-in kitchen with an island/breakfast bar. A sitting room sits off the foyer.
Among amenities is an elevator, a wood-paneled office/library with herringbone wood floors and a lower level complete with a media room, gym and wet bar. There are five fireplaces in all.
Seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms include a master suite with a sitting room, fireplace and large soaking tub.
Outdoors, landscaped grounds feature a covered patio, a basketball half-court and a swimming pool and spa. There’s also a three-car garage.
The house last sold in 2007 for $6.35 million, public record show.
Michele Kolsky-Assatly of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is the listing agent.
Ewing, 53, played 17 seasons in the NBA for the New York Knicks, Seattle Supersonics and Orlando Magic, making 11 All-Star teams. As an Olympian, the 7-foot center won gold at the 1984 and 1992 Games.
He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008 and currently holds the title of associate head coach for the Charlotte Hornets.
For Ewing fans on a slightly smaller budget, a Potomac, Md., mansion-estate built for the basketball great is currently listed for sale at $5.3 million.
The 14,800-square-foot home behind gates has a 50-foot swimming pool, a tennis court and a guest cottage on about three acres. There are seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and three fireplaces across three floors.
Custom details such as Ewing’s enormous shoe closet, a practice basketball hoop and workout equipment have been preserved by the current owners, according to Coldwell Banker agent Ellie Shorb, who holds the listing.
