Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift are ‘not a publicity stunt,’ he says (‘Thank you for asking’)

Still think the Hiddleswift romance is a hoax? Tom Hiddleston begs to differ.

You see, he and Taylor Swift are in Australia, where he’s about to start doing the Loki thing again for “Thor: Ragnarok.” And he was nominated for an Emmy on Thursday, so he got on the phone for a chat about said nomination. And during that chat, darned if the journalist on the other end managed to squeeze in a question completely unrelated to his work in “The Night Manager.”

“The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we’re very happy,” Hiddleston told the Hollywood Reporter. “Thanks for asking.”

Man, the English — so polite.

“That’s the truth,” the 35-year-old actor continued, in case nobody believed him the first time. “It’s not a publicity stunt.”

Of course not.

The public phase of Taylor and Tom’s romance began nicely enough about a month ago when the two were photographed smooching on a beach in Rhode Island. Their parents were looped in. Conspiracy theories raged. And now they’re Down Under together, being photographed by paparazzi and going to the movies.

There were, however, a few clouds in paradise on Wednesday: TSwift’s ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris lost it just a weensy bit on Twitter after the singer’s team confirmed that she’d co-written a song with him under an assumed name.

After praising her skills and then piling on about all the things HE did on the track, the DJ who was born Adam Wiles had more than a few words for his ex, who apparently isn’t taking DMs from him anymore.

“Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though,” Harris said in a couple of tweets. “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”

Then the claws came out with the invocation of Swift’s supposed feud with Katy Perry: “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

Strong words, Calvin. But then he wrapped things up with “God bless everyone have a beautiful day.”

Man, the Scottish — so polite.
