Justin Bieber arrested on suspicion of DUI, still manages a smile
The pop star was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence and drag racing in Miami Beach, Fla.
Some would say it was only a matter of time: Justin Bieber has been arrested in Miami Beach on suspicion of DUI, resisting arrest without violence and driving with an invalid license after police witnessed a drag racing incident in Lamborghinis in the wee hours Thursday morning.
The details come according to a police report obtained by Nation Now, which also revealed that the Biebs had, police said, a “stupor look” with glassy eyes and a smell of alcohol coming off him. While the officer searched Bieber, the singer allegedly cussed him out, stating he had no weapons and asking, profanely, why he had to be patted down.
Bieber was then administered a field sobriety test, during which he “did not perform to standards.” He was taken into custody pending a first court appearance. Both vehicles — the other driver, rapper Khalil, was also arrested — were taken to a police garage, according to Nation Now.
And after all that, the 19-year-old pop star actually smiled in his mug shot.
Interesting tidbit: According to TMZ, Justin’s dad Jeremy Bieber, 38, was on the scene at the time of the alleged racing, during which police said the cars hit 55-60 in a 30 mph residential zone. The road was blocked by SUVs, according to the report, and TMZ said the senior Bieber helped put that in place. Dad was with his son all day, including at the nightclub where Justin was allegedly partying before the incident.
Bieber, who’s on a break from touring, has been courting trouble on both coasts, most recently making news for dropping big bucks (some say up to $75,000) in a 21-and-over strip club in Miami, where he’s been all week.
ARREST: Justin Bieber arrest report
Before that, Bieber faced a search of his Calabasas home after allegedly egging his neighbor’s home to the tune of $20,000 in damage. During the search, a buddy, Lil Za, was arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession.
