Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling’s husband, enters rehab
Tori Spelling’s husband, Dean McDermott, has voluntarily entered a rehabilitation center for “health and personal issues.”
The “Chopped Canada” host issued a statement on the matter via People following a run-up of cheating rumors swirling around the star for months.
“I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family,” the actor-turned-reality star told the mag in a statement.
“I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues,” he continued. “I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.”
The 47-year-old is reportedly receiving intense treatment but is able to leave the facility to visit his wife and children, the mag said.
On Saturday, McDermott and Spelling were photographed walking out of a Los Angeles building that houses a rehab center, E! News reported.
She of “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame married McDermott in 2006, and the couple have four children together: Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 15 months. Their lives have been publicly chronicled in the Oxygen series “Tori & Dean” and its various spinoffs from 2007 to 2012.
A spate of cheating rumors stormed its way into the tabloids in December following an Us Weekly cover story claiming that McDermott had cheated on Spelling with a 28-year-old while he was in his native Canada to promote his cooking competition series.
Just as the report emerged, Spelling, 40, shared a family photo of her brood wishing fans a Merry Christmas “From the McDermotts.”
Earlier this month People reported that the mother of four was “devastated” and “much more heartbroken than anyone realized” about her husband, a source told the mag.
Spelling has yet to publicly address the alleged affair or her husband’s admission to rehab.
