‘Spider-Man’ actor Tobey Maguire lists Santa Monica compound for $3 million
Actor-producer Tobey Maguire and his wife, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, have listed a small compound in Santa Monica for sale at $2.995 million.
The couple, who earlier this month announced they are separating, bought the house a year ago for $2.675 million, records show.
The main house, originally a 1920s bungalow, was renovated and expanded by architect Ruben Ojeda, who vaulted the ceilings while adding a second floor. A separate, two-story studio designed by architectural firm Koning Eizenberg and a third structure currently used as a gym also reside on the grounds.
Large picture windows, skylights and 22-foot ceilings lend a light and airy vibe to the 2,401-square-foot main house, which has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. A formal living room, an updated kitchen, a dining area and a den are among the common areas.
Topped by a curved ceiling, the master suite has French doors that open to a terraced balcony overlooking the grounds.
Drought-tolerant landscaping, palms and a large patio complete the setting.
Scott King of Compass holds the listing.
Maguire, 41, has starred in such films as “The Great Gatsby” (2013) and “Seabiscuit” (2003) as well as three installments of the “Spider-Man” franchise. More recently, he appeared on the series “The Spoils of Babylon” and produced the film “The 5th Wave” (2016).
