NFL free agent Reggie Bush sells his Detroit-area home for $1.9 million
As Reggie Bush continues to look for a new home in the NFL, the veteran tailback has said goodbye to an old one. He’s sold his house in Birmingham, Mich., for $1.9 million.
The updated Prairie Modern-style home, built in 1998, originally came to market last summer for $2.495 million. More recently, it was listed for about $2 million, records show.
The multi-level residence features open-plan living areas, hardwood and black marble floors and walls of windows. A floating wood-and-glass staircase runs between each floor, including a lower-level lounge with a game/media room and a wet bar.
Formal living and dining rooms, a center-island kitchen, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms lie within 8,000 square feet of interior space. A terrace patio extends off the main patio and overlooks a swimming pool.
Bush, who previously spent two seasons with the Detroit Lions, bought the home in 2013. He appeared in just five games with the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
Eddie Mallad of Re/Max Team 2000 was the listing agent.
The 31-year-old Bush was a standout at USC and, before that, Helix High School in La Mesa. He was taken second overall in the 2006 draft and has 5,493 yards rushing in 10 NFL seasons.
More recently, the running back has been making moves in the real estate game. In October, Bush was part of a group of professional-athlete investors who paid $8.95 million for a half-acre property in Beverly Hills for the purposes of speculative development.
