Pacific Palisades home of ‘Dick Van Dyke Show’s’ Ann Guilbert lists for sale
The longtime home of late actress Ann Morgan Guilbert, known for her role as next-door neighbor Millie Helper on “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” has come to market in Pacific Palisades for $3.89 million.
Overlooking lower Temescal Canyon on a quarter-acre lot, the English country-style home is in the whimsical storybook manner popularized in the early 20th century. The fanciful two-story has steeply sloped gables, original brick fireplaces and hexagonal tile floors. Leaded glass windows feature the traditional Tudor diamond pattern.
Within the 2,351 square feet of living space are a formal living room, an updated kitchen, a dining nook, four bedrooms and 3.25 bathrooms. Walls of built-ins bookend a game room/den.
Sliding glass doors open to a series of ironwood-lined decks and patios designed by landscape architects by Sid Galper and Cleo Baldon. Views take in the surrounding treetops and canyon area.
Guilbert, who died in June at 87, had scores of credits as a character actress including a recurring role on the sitcom “The Nanny.” More recently, she appeared on the series “Getting On” and “Life in Pieces.”
Sara Clephane and Mike Deasy of Deasy/Penner & Partners hold the listing.
