The boy is back: Elton John returns to Las Vegas with his ‘Million Dollar Piano’ show
He’s back! More than four decades after he first played Las Vegas, Elton John will be performing his flashy “Million Dollar Piano” show at Caesars Palace in January and April.
John, 68, pioneered the show at the hotel-casino’s Colosseum, which features an ornate one-of-a-kind piano tricked out with 68 video screens that show images to match the music.
Tickets for shows go on sale Sunday.
The five-time Grammy winner will be playing some of his most famous hits, including “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” He brings along musicians Nigel Olsson on drums, Davey Johnstone on guitar, Matt Bissonette on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Kim Bullard on keyboards and percussionist Ray Cooper.
The piano also is the star of this show that began at Caesars in 2011. A mix of technology, lighting and swirling sculptures accompanies John’s voice and playing. It took four years to build.
The show is scheduled for Jan. 19 and 20, 22 and 23, 26 and 27 and 29 to 31. Also, John will be playing April 16 and 17, 19 and 20, 22 and 23, 26 and 27 and 29 and 30.
Tickets cost $55 to $250, excluding taxes and fees. You can buy eight tickets per person.
