Here’s where to find the best pizza in the U.S.
As best American pizza cities go, Chicago and New York City top the list.
But Las Vegas, San Francisco and San Diego?
These three cities made it into TripAdvisor’s top 10 U.S. pizza places based on reviews on the travel website.
The website also offers suggestions on must-try pizza restaurants.
In San Francisco, it’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar and Za Pizza.
Recommendations in San Diego include Basic, Buona Forchetta and Pizza Port Ocean Beach.
In Las Vegas, it’s Project Pie, Pizza Rock (which also gets a shout-out in OpenTable’s 2015 Summer Road Trip Restaurant Guide) and Secret Pizza.
More interesting are the individual restaurants that came out on top.
The Moose’s Tooth Pub and Pizzeria in Anchorage, for example, makes a pie topped with apricot sauce, cream cheese, carrots and chicken.
And Bill’s Pizza in Palm Springs draws big-time fans with its sourdough crusts and toppings, such as Schreiner’s sausage and olive oil-roasted vegetables.
By the way, TripAdvisor‘s word search of its pizza reviews turned up pepperoni, sausage and mushroom as the top toppings folks request.
