Comic Louie Anderson is hosting an ‘After Show’ in Vegas, and you’re invited

Louie Anderson is bringing a new monthly show to Vegas on Saturday, but don’t expect one of those big, splashy numbers.

“It’s a show after the show,” Anderson says. “I invite people like comic friends, magician friends and different people to stop by. If they feel like doing a set, fine.”

“Louie Anderson Presents: The After Show” will play at a small club just west of the Strip — and tickets cost just $20.

Anderson says the idea for the show was inspired by the late Liberace. The Vegas showman used to host late-night gatherings where he would cook spaghetti for his fellow entertainers.

“In the old days, Liberace and all those guys used to have an after-show, kind of a party and get-together. After your show, you don’t feel like going home,” Anderson says.

The comic isn’t cooking but he is playing host to those who want to wind down a bit, even in front of an audience.

“This was set up so that people who still wanted to hang out [and] maybe do a performance would be able to do it on Saturday nights once a month,” he says.

“After Shows” are scheduled April 22, May 13, June 17 and July 15. Doors open at 10 p.m. at The Space, a 100-seat venue at 3460 Cavaretta Court.

“It’s not a performance space for me per se, but on any given night, I might pop up there [onstage] and do something,” he says.

General admission tickets are available online. All proceeds will be donated to charity.

Anderson said the show is a good way to give back to Sin City, where he has performed for many years. The actor-comedian, who won his third Emmy last September for his role in the FX TV series “Baskets,” divides his time between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
