Black Friday-Cyber Monday deals at some snazzy California hotels — some for less than $100 a night

Hotels are rolling out their Black Friday-Cyber Monday sales, some of which bring deep discounts. It could be a good reason to plan a post-Thanksgiving getaway that won’t break the bank.

The deals: Here’s a preview of Black Friday-Cyber Monday sales. Before you buy, check out the rooms, amenities, location, etc., online and then shop wisely.

•Hotel Abri, 127 Ellis St., San Francisco; (888) 229-0677. Rooms start at $109 during the sale that begins Friday (Nov. 25) and ends at midnight Monday. Good for stays through Feb. 28 at this hotel near Union Square.

•Lodge at Tiburon, 1651 Tiburon Blvd., Tiburon; (800) 762-7770. Rooms start at $99 weekdays and include two cocktails at the hotel’s tavern. Good for stays through Jan. 31 at the 103-room Craftsman-style hotel in Marin County. Sale runs Friday to midnight Monday.

•The US Grant, 326 Broadway, San Diego; (866) 716-8136. This historic hotel in downtown San Diego has a booking window that lasts until Dec. 4 to get a 30% discount on rooms for stays through Sept. 4.

•Rancho Bernardo Inn, 17550 Bernardo Oaks Drive, San Diego; (888) 976-4417. The luxury resort on 265 acres offers half off its best available rates for those who book between Friday and Monday. The inn says that means rooms for as little as $89. The deal is good for stays through Jan. 31.

•Toll House Hotel, 140 S. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos; (408) 395-7070. You can snag a room starting at $129 for stays through Feb. 28 if you book between Friday and midnight on Monday.

•The Marker, 501 Geary St., San Francisco; (844) 736-2753. Save up to 35% on the hotel’s best available rate when booking between Friday and Monday. The deal is good for stays from Nov. 28 to March 31.

•Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa, 801 Bridgeway, Sausalito; (800) 288-0502. Rooms start at $149 weekdays during the sale between Friday and midnight Monday. You must stay by Jan. 31 at this hotel, where accommodations are as diverse as modern rooms and hillside cottages.

•Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, 207 Fifth Ave., San Diego; (866) 751-7625. This is one worth setting your clock for. The sale starts 12:01 a.m. Sunday and lasts through midnight on Wednesday. The first 10 people who book receive their first night free; everyone receives room prices starting at $99. Stays are good through Jan. 31 at the Gaslamp Quarter hotel. When: Booking and travel periods vary from hotel to hotel.

Details: Many of these hotel deals have blackout dates and a limited number of rooms at low prices, which means shop early for the widest selection.

There’s no way to test these deals before sales begin. But I did check online and found prices for midweek stays in January starting at $289 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, $249 at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego and $169 at the Lodge at Tiburon.
