Lakers’ Pau Gasol expects to play Friday despite ankle sprain
Pau Gasol was clearly limited on Sunday night when the Lakers lost 114-108 to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Hampered by a sprained ankle, Gasol scored just six points on 3-of-15 shooting while Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge dominated with 27.
Fortunately for the Lakers, Gasol isn’t expected to miss any games. An MRI of his right ankle on Monday didn’t show any significant damage.
MRI revealed a mild sprain, so good news. I will work in these next days in order to be ready to play for Friday’s game in Sacramento.— Pau Gasol (@paugasol) December 3, 2013
The Lakers took Monday off, with three days of practice ahead before they visit the Kings on Friday.
Gasol will also make a talk show appearance on “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” on CBS, airing at 12:35 a.m. on Wednesday.
