A 35-year-old man suffered cuts to his face after he was attacked, possibly with a machete, Monday morning, Los Angeles police said.
Officers received a call around 9:43 a.m. about an assault with a deadly weapon in the 5000 block of Rodeo Road, said LAPD Officer Drake Madison. The incident involved two men, “one of them with a large knife or possible machete,” Madison said.

When officers arrived the suspect was gone, having fled in a vehicle, Madison said. An ambulance was requested for the victim, whose condition was not detailed, though he was conscious and breathing, Madison said.
