Nando’s chicken serves Beyonce with more than $2,200 tab
Nando’s chicken in Chelmsford, England, reportedly received a call from Beyonce Knowles last weekend -- proving once and for all that if you think it’s beyond amazing to be on tour with Beyonce, you’re right. Oh, and apparently, Mrs. Carter keeps you well fed too.
Employees say that Beyonce made the call herself after performing at the V Festival in Hylands Park on Saturday, and placed an order for more than $2,200 worth of food for her entourage. The eatery is well-known for its Peri Peri (African bird’s eye chili) marinated chicken.
So what does Beyonce order for her crew when she can have anything she wants? A total of 116 chicken wings, 48 whole chickens, 48 orders of chips, 24 veggie burgers, 24 sides of rice and 24 sides of coleslaw.
Nando’s worker Emanuella Rodriguez tweeted “@NandosUK cooking @Beyonce wings while she’s at @VFestival #nandoschelmsford #worthaRT” with a picture in the Nando’s kitchen with wings on the grill.
A picture of the bill is also making the online rounds, and shows that it was paid for in cash.
Beyonce is a fan of the Nando’s chain of restaurants and rung up a bill for more than $1,000 at a location in Dublin earlier this year.
If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, you’ll have to travel out of state, or even out of the country, to try the chicken. Nando’s has U.S. locations in Washington, Maryland and Virginia.
