Hot dog legs go viral in new Tumblr blog: A farewell to summer
Hot dog legs, prepare to go down as the hit of Summer 2013, the meme of the moment and the oh-so-perfect way to lampoon those annoying self-absorbed “selfies.”
If you’re wondering what language we’re speaking, pull up a beach chair and we’ll explain.
A new Tumblr blog called Hot Dog Legs has gone viral, as it asks the provocative questions: Are these real legs? Or hot dog legs?
The brilliant new blog aggregates pictures that make fun of beach-themed selfies -- the photos cropping up on social media platforms this season making us all jealous when the picture taker shows off a pair of tanned, toned front thighs against the backdrop of a jaw-dropping wish-you-were-here view.
But someone somewhere noticed that many of these images seem a little ... off. Like, the legs kinda look a little like the hot dogs rotating alongside the cash register at the local convenience store.
And Hot Dog Legs Tumblr was born.
There’s also a Hot Dog Legs Facebook page.
Scroll down and you’ll agree: It almost doesn’t matter whether these are real legs or hot dog legs. In fact, it’s more fun not knowing whether they’re real or some cutups staging the perfect shot for a self-absorbed selfie.
Summer 2013 may be winding to a close, but only time will tell whether this blog has legs as fall beckons.
