The In N Out Monkey Style burger: The best ‘secret’ item yet?
For the Record, 11:35 a.m. July 3: A representive from In-N-Out has verified that the Monkey-Style burger is not officially on the chain’s unofficial secret menu. A follow-up post further correcting the information below can be found here.
In-N-Out burger is known for its “secret” burger creations -- those off the menu items that sounds as if they were dreamed up in someone’s basement during a double all-nighter in college.
There’s the Animal Style burger with a mustard-covered beef patty, pickles, grilled onions and a hefty dose of the restaurant’s “spread.” There’s also Animal Style fries that include an order of fries topped with cheese, grilled onions and spread. And you can even get your burger on lettuce instead of a bun, otherwise known as Protein Style.
So what’s the Monkey Style? It’s the latest unofficial addition to the “not-so-secret menu.”
According to the blog FoodBeast, it’s a burger and an order of Animal Style fries in one. Stomachs around the country just groaned in excitement.
Best idea ever? It could be. This bad boy has a burger patty topped with fries, cheese, grilled onions and spread. No word on why it’s called the “Monkey” style just yet.
Now it’s time to play the what-would-you-create-at-in-n-out game. Here’s one idea that needs to come to fruition: The bad girl, made with a Monkey Style burger, an Animal Style patty, Protein Style, the bottom piece of bun stuck in the middle, with raw onions and hot peppers. Say that three times, fast.
