What to eat at Coachella 2013
If you’ve ever been to Coachella, you know the three-day music festival is a downright marathon. You’re in the heat, jumping up and down for your favorite artists, screaming along to every song and fighting your way to the front of each stage. For this, you need fuel in the form of good food and strong libations.
The festival is stepping up its food program this year with two on-site restaurants and a beer garden in addition to the regular food vendors and food trucks. Here’s a look at all the offerings that will be available when it begins in mid-April:
The beer garden will be located at The Terrace, the main festival food hub. There will also be bites from Ruth Chris Steak House, Las Casuelas Quinta, Baohaus and Pink’s Chili Dogs. Some of the new food vendors include Wood-Fired Pizza, Just Tossed Organic Salads and Waffle Ice Cream Sandwiches. And if you’re a vegetarian, don’t fret. There are veggie, vegan, raw and gluten-free items available.
For sit-down dining in an actual air-conditioned space, the Cantina Restaurant by Roc’s Firehouse is located in the festival lobby. They’ve got a full menu and bar.
The Kogi, Border Grill, Green Truck, Coolhaus, Lime Truck and more food trucks will be located in both VIP areas and in the camping grounds.
You can grab a beer or something stiffer at both VIP areas, the Round Bar next to the Ferris wheel, the Cantina restaurant and at the beer gardens. For specialty cocktails, check out the Rose Garden VIP with a Mixology Bar and Bubbly Bar.
If you’re hanging in the campgrounds, the Main Food Row will serve up almost every type of taste, with vendors including Mobile Espresso, a Juicebox Food Truck, Epic Burritos and Spicy Pie. For breakfast you can hit up the Camping Cafe for Johnny cakes, eggs Benedict and hash, or the Campground Clubhouse breakfast buffet on the patio at the Clubhouse from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There is also a certified farmers market located next to the Clubhouse for fresh produce, baked goods and organic coffee. The market will be open during the festival from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
