Paris Fashion Week spring/summer 2014: Chloe review

PARIS --On Sunday afternoon at Paris Fashion Week, Clare Waight Keller showed one of her strongest Chloe collections yet

The inspiration: A high-summer feeling (burning sand dunes, sun-kissed skin and bare shoulders); airy opulence and modern exoticism, according to show notes.

The look: Beat-the-heat bohemian chic.

Key pieces: Floaty micro-pleated white silk cloque dress knotted over the arms. Khaki micro-pleated silk pants with loose ankle ties, worn with navy peaked shoulder blouse. (Micro-pleating or “plisse” is having a moment this season, and Waight Keller’s take on the trend was effortless and cool.) Chiffon-weight knits. Burnished khaki leather pants. Blue crochet lace dress. Blown-glass droplet-shaped pendants. Bleached leather cork mules. Cross body bags.

The verdict: The epitome of luxurious ease. And so perfect for L.A., where Waight Keller will be traveling for an event in a few weeks.
