Los Angeles Times Fashion Critic
NEW YORK -- The J. Crew women’s presentation at New York Fashion Week served up lots of the season’s trends (offbeat color combinations, shaggy knits, shearling) at affordable prices.
The inspiration: Berlin’s famous 1920s and ‘30s-era cabarets, lush styling, minimal layers and deep colors.
Key pieces: Holographic snake sequin skirt and floral sweatshirt. Gilded orchid jacquard fit ‘n’ flare dress. Fringed black sweater. Burnished gold sequin cropped trousers. Indigo, mint and orange shearling clutch. Sophia Webster for J. Crew shoes.
