‘Orange Is the New Black’ season 4 trailer: Tension you can cut with a shank
Enjoying your Tuesday? Monday’s done, and now you’re kind of relaxed? “Orange Is the New Black” can help you get over that in a jiffy.
The official trailer for the Netflix series’ fourth season is out, and man is it tense. Seems that Litchfield Penitentiary is full to bursting these days — it’s a for-profit prison now, remember? — and the ladies are feeling it.
“I’ve been in Litchfield for a while now and I have started to feel unsafe lately,” Taylor Schilling’s Piper Chapman says to the powers that be. Gee, ya think? “I am going to bury you,” Maria Ruiz (Jessica Pimentel) growls at her, getting up close and personal.
Taystee (Danielle Brooks) is working the phones for Warden Caputo, and Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore) is not only “going there” with a new inmate in a hijab, she “went there, bought a house, moved in ... and now I’m remodeling the kitchen.” Imagine if the Real Housewives were behind bars. Wait, never mind that last bit ...
Heads up before you hit “play”: There’s some mild profanity in the trailer. It is a prison series, after all.
“Do you know the difference between pain and suffering?,” Pensatucky (Taryn Manning) asks Boo (Lea DeLaria). “Pain is always there,” she continues, “but suffering is a choice.”
“OITNB” Season 4 looks like it’ll offer plenty of both. New episodes arrive June 17 on the streaming service.
