‘Orange Is the New Black’ cast members on their lake dive, hopes for new season
It’s been a little over a month since the third season of “Orange Is the New Black” rolled out on Netflix, so if you have yet to catch up with Piper and the gang, you should probably refrain from reading this post. We don’t want to write you a shot.

It was the scene that had some of the ladies of “Orange Is the New Black” crying a river -- or, in this case, a lake.
The final moment of the third season of the Netflix dramedy involved the fence coming down and the inmates sprinting beyond Litchfield Penitentiary for a brief moment of freedom in the nearby lake. The death stares and cliques took a break, replaced with laughter, happiness and even a little nudity.
“I cried throughout the entire lake scene,” said Selina Leyva, who played this season’s temporary kitchen matriarch Gloria Mendoza.

Uzo Aduba, whose popular turn as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren earned her an Emmy nomination this year, added that it was a nice release after “39 episodes of tension building for the characters.
“The opportunity to see these women, to see who they are when they’re not in this world, it was amazing,” Aduba said.
Leyva and Aduba were joined by Taylor Schilling (Piper Chapman), Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols), Lea DeLaria (Carrie “Boo” Black) and Taryn Manning (Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett) on Tuesday at Television Critics Assn. press tour in Beverly Hills. “Orange Is the New Black” served as the headliner for Netflix’s day of panels.
With good reason. The show is one of Netflix’s most popular original series (though that’s based purely on cultural chatter since Netflix doesn’t release viewership data). And in its three-season run, the show has racked up 16 Emmy nominations, including outstanding drama series.
“I would say it’s a dramedy, and I think it’s odd [the Emmys] doesn’t have a dramedy comedy,” DeLaria says. But she’s not complaining about what they got.
As far as what’s ahead in the fourth season, Lyonne kept mum about whether Nicky will return.
“I feel a great deal of solidarity with the cast of ‘Game of Thrones,’ ” she joked when a reporter pressed the issue.

Asked who they’d want to see their characters interact with, Leyva said she’d like to see Gloria and Pennsatucky (Manning) share screen time. Aduba said she’d like to work with Dascha Polanco (Dayanara), since their characters haven’t interacted.
Lyonne, meanwhile, joked that she’s pitching an episode in Hawaii.
If it could somehow rival the drama found in those”Real Housewives” vacation trips, we’re game.
