Kanye West releases ‘Ultralight Prayer,’ an Easter remix of ‘Ultralight Beam’
Kanye West’s “The Life of Pablo” was rich with gospel-music sounds and themes (alongside those other more terrestrial concerns).
With guests like Kirk Franklin and lyrics abounding with images of redemption, the album would have been surprisingly useful for Easter brunch.
Now West confirmed that sentiment with a new remix of “Ultralight Beam” released especially for the holiday.
West released the two-minute-long re-tweaking, now titled “Ultralight Prayer,” on his Twitter account and Soundcloud pages. The edit further emphasizes Frankin and Kelly Price’s impassioned vocal contributions, lending an already church-ly song an even more incantory feel.
While “The Life of Pablo” is, by now, more of an evolving plan than a new album per se, this song isn’t an offical change to the track list.
It also wasn’t the only Easter activity West was up to Sunday. He traded his bear suit for bunny costumes with Tyga at a family gathering, and it’s actually pretty adorable. For all his travails of late, West takes his role as an endearingly goofy dad even more seriously than finally fixing “Pablo” for good.
