‘Consciously uncoupled’ Gwyneth Paltrow to take break from acting
The Oscar-winning actress and the Grammy-winning singer announced the split via Paltrow’s website, Goop.
What’s a Hollywood star and lifestyle guru to do after “consciously uncoupling” from her rock-star husband? In the case of Gwyneth Paltrow, she’s planning to take a break from acting to focus on her children, according to E! Online.
“I just finished a movie in January that I was doing at the end of last year in London with Johnny Depp, and then I had two weeks here, and then I did a couple of episodes for ‘Glee’ for the 100th episode,” Paltrow told E! recently.
The movie to which Paltrow referred is “Mortdecai,” an action-comedy caper directed by David Koepp and based on Kyril Bonfiglioli’s anthology book “The Mortdecai Trilogy,” about a roguish art dealer racing to recover a stolen painting rumored to be linked to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.

With that film wrapped, it’s time to “go back to [being] mommy,” said Paltrow, who announced her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin on her website Goop on Tuesday. “I have a rule about one movie a year, so I can’t shoot anything for a while, but I’m developing some material and working on the site and raising kids.”
Paltrow, 41, said it’s difficult to manage her movie career now that her children — Apple, 9, and Moses, 7 — are getting older.
“I think it’s different when you have an office job because it’s routine and you know you can do all the stuff in the morning, and then you come home in the evening,” she said. “When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day, and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom … of course, there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set.”
Paltrow’s recent big-screen appearances have included the superhero blockbuster “Iron Man 3” and the indie dramedy “Thanks for Sharing.”
