Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard welcome baby girl, name her Lincoln
Kristen Bell and fiance Dax Shepard have welcomed their baby girl.
Shepard, 38, who stars in NBC’s “Parenthood,” announced the arrival Thursday on Twitter and revealed the newborn’s name, which falls in line with Jessica Simpson’s masculine-name-for-females heuristic.
“Lincoln Bell Shepard is here,” Shepard tweeted. “She has mom’s beauty and dad’s obsession with breasts. Hooray!”

Added the new mommy: “My new roomate poops her pants and doesn’t pay rent...basically @daxshepard1 pre-sobriety :) welcome baby Lincoln xo.”
She also jumped on a follower’s name for the wee one: “A MINI MARSHMALLOW!!! Xo.”
When Bell stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres show in January, she made it seem as if they would be having a boy because of all the “off-roading” her husband planned to do with the kid. Well, the baby isn’t a boy but she definitely has a boy’s name. It is the year of Lincoln in Hollywood after all ...
Earlier this week, the “House of Lies” actress, 32, posted a photo of her dog, Lola, leaning on her expanded belly and captioned it “Eavesdropping.” She also spoke out in support of same-sex marriage this week as the Supreme Court weighs Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act.
Bell and Shepard have been together since 2007 and got engaged over the holidays in 2009, though they’ve put off their nuptials because they’re waiting for same-sex marriage to be federalized.

“The reason we’re not rushing to get married is because I don’t feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that’s denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends,” Bell told the Advocate last August.
“We’re not punishing America by not getting married....,” Shepard told CNN last year. “We’re not going to have a party and invite our friends, half of whom can’t [get married]. We’re not going to ask them to come celebrate a right they don’t have. That’s just tacky.”
It seems to have been a good nine months for Bell, over all. Though “Gossip Girl,” the CW drama she narrated, wrapped, her high school detective series “Veronica Mars” is getting a second life by successfully launching a Kickstarter campaign to turn the series into a movie.
Now all she needs is a sloth and she’s set.
