Does a little dirty dancing mean Tom Cruise is romancing?

Is Tom Cruise healing his heart with a new girlfriend, so soon after being bounced by Katie Holmes?

So it seemed when In Touch reported Wednesday that the 50-year-old “Jack Reacher” star was spotted out at a New York nightclub a week before Christmas, hitting the dance floor with a woman half his age.

“At one point, they began grinding together,” a witness told the mag. “It was straight out of ‘Dirty Dancing.’ Tom seemed to be in his own world, completely smitten.”

Alas, a source told People on Thursday there was no love light burning, and the New York Post reported that she was just showing him “some of the city’s hotspots.”

“Cynthia told me they went out for drinks and it was nothing but a casual night out,” the People source said. “Cynthia” would be 26-year-old brunette Cynthia Jorge, a restaurant manager he’d met two nights before.

“She said he’s a nice guy.”

A nice guy. Dang. That’s gotta hurt.
