Oh, Nick Carter, you promised you’d never break our hearts. But you getting arrested in Florida on Wednesday night pretty much does exactly that.

The Backstreet Boys singer and “Dancing With the Stars” veteran was arrested along with a buddy after the two were cut off by a bartender at the awesomely named Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West and then allegedly got physical, the Miami Herald reported.

The two guys were refused service around 7 p.m. because they were “heavily intoxicated,” according to a police report obtained by the paper, and then “became agitated and aggressive,” refusing to leave despite multiple requests that they hit the road.

The fight allegedly happened outside the saloon after the men were escorted out by security, with Carter accused of grabbing a bartender by the neck and punching him and his friend accused of head-butting the establishment’s manager.

Cops took Carter, 35, and Michael Papayans, 27, into custody around 8 p.m., the Herald said. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office website, Carter spent the night in jail, with bail set at $1,500. At one point, police had Carter face-down on the ground, according to a photo posted by TMZ.

Both men were charged with misdemeanor battery, which in this case means intentionally touching or striking another person against their will. In Florida, a first-degree misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Hmm. It might be time for Carter to quit playing games: His son with wife Lauren Kitt is expected to arrive around April.
