Lisa Niemi, widow of Patrick Swayze, is engaged to be married
Lisa Niemi, Patrick Swayze’s widow, is engaged to be married, four years after her first husband’s 2009 death.
Niemi, 57, and Swayze, who died at 57 after a nearly two-year struggle with pancreatic cancer, were married for 34 years. Swayze of course starred in films including “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost.”
Albert DePrisco, 58 and a jeweler, proposed on Christmas Eve, Niemi’s rep told People over the weekend. The two have been dating for a year and a half after meeting through mutual friends at a birthday party for Niemi, the magazine said.
Niemi and Swayze reportedly met when they were teens dancing in Houston and got married in 1975.
DePrisco is owner and president of A.M. DePrisco Wellesley, a jewelry store that operates out of Massachusetts. Niemi is the national spokeswoman for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and has written two books, one on her own and one with Swayze before his death.
