Laura Dern, Ben Harper finalize their long-running divorce
“Enlightened” star Laura Dern has finalized her long-running divorce from Ben Harper, according to reports out Wednesday.
The Grammy-winning musician originally filed for divorce from the Emmy-nominated actress in October 2010, citing irreconcilable differences.
Court documents said the couple, who had been married since 2005, had already separated in January of that year. They have two children together, and Harper had asked for denial of spousal support.

Dern, 46, daughter of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern, and Harper, 43, attempted to reconcile in 2012 and stepped out for HBO’s Golden Globe Awards after-party at the time. But the reconciliation failed, according to TMZ, so Dern then filed her response to Harper’s divorce petition. In her response, she demanded primary physical custody of their two children.
TMZ reported that a judge has signed the petition finally putting the proceedings to rest.
Though the terms of the settlement are confidential, sources told the site that neither will get spousal support. Dern reportedly received “minimal” child support and they will have joint custody of their children, though Dern will have them more often than her ex.
