Allison Williams of ‘Girls’ engaged to Ricky Van Veen
Allison Williams, a star of HBO’s “Girls” and the daughter of NBC newsman Brian Williams, is reportedly engaged to Ricky Van Veen, her boyfriend of three years.
The actress met the co-founder of the CollegeHumor website through mutual friends, according to People magazine, which first announced the news. And her dad “likes him a lot,” she told Larry King in January.
Williams, 25 and a Yale graduate in English, plays Marnie on Lena Dunham’s cable comedy about four single twentysomething women in New York City.
Speaking with King on his Ora-TV show but not naming names, she described Van Veen as an “entrepreneurial kind of guy.” She told King that their relationship was “serious,” while playing it cagey about any details. “I just can’t believe you’re getting me to talk about this,” she said, laughing and then describing her personal life as “a part of life that is more private than the rest of it.”
Williams appeared Wednesday on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” (see above), talking a lot about how she got into acting -- which her parents made sure happened after she graduated from college.
