Tinder CEO Sean Rad sells Wilshire Corridor penthouse for $7.75 million
Sean Rad, the co-founder and CEO of the social networking/dating app Tinder, has found a match for his penthouse in Westwood, selling the unit at the Carlyle Residences on Wilshire Boulevard for $7.75 million.
Found on the 23rd floor in the 78-unit building, the residence has a subdued vibe with dark wood floors, gold and crystal fixtures and a modern chef’s kitchen. Walls of windows surround the living spaces, bringing city-light views inside.
A formal living room with a fireplace, a dining room and a library/study are among the common areas. The master suite boasts his and hers bathrooms for a total of three bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Outdoors, balconies and terraces extend from each of the home’s exposures. Three covered parking spots were also included in the sale.
Rad, who bought another home earlier this year in Hollywood Hills West, paid $7.5 million for the penthouse a year ago, records show. He had asked as much as $8.995 million for the property.
Brendan Fitzpatrick of The Agency was the listing agent. James Rucker of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
Rad started the social marketing firm Adly prior to launching the West Hollywood-based Tinder in 2012. A unit of dating giant Match Group, Tinder generates more than 26 million matches a day between pairs while generating million of dollars in revenue through advertisers and paid premium features.
