Singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins buys a scenic retreat in Montecito

Grammy-winning musician Kenny Loggins has found a new spot to cut loose, buying an updated home in the Montecito area for $2.945 million.

The Traditional-style house, built in 1951 and recently renovated, sits behind gates on more than an acre of lush grounds and has a circular driveway. Designed for outdoor entertaining, a courtyard with a fountain sits off the entrance to the home, while wide decking wraps the rear exterior.

Nearly 3,000 square feet of of living space contains a living room with an antique fireplace, a formal dining room, a contemporary kitchen, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master suite opens to a trellis-topped deck with a jacuzzi. Among other features are vaulted and beamed ceilings, Saltillo tile floors and unusual clerestory windows in the kitchen.

Outdoors, circular stonework surrounds a gravel-filled fire pit. Lawns, tropical landscaping and a Bali-inspired playhouse complete the setting.

The house came back on the market late last year for $2.999 million, records show. Hat tip to Celebrity Aerial Address for spotting the sale.

Loggins, 68, composed songs for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and released six albums as half of the rock-pop duo Loggins and Messina before he became a solo artist. The singer-songwriter later produced a string of soundtrack hits, including “I’m Alright” for “Caddyshack” (1980), “Footloose” for the 1984 film of the same name and “Danger Zone” for “Top Gun” (1986).
