One Direction’s Harry Styles takes a loss on sale of Beverly Crest home
Harry Styles of One Direction fame has quietly changed course on his home in Beverly Crest, selling the renovated post-and-beam for $3.175 million in an off-market deal, the Multiple Listing Service shows.
Styles bought the Alejandro Ortiz-designed compound on a third of an acre two years ago for $4 million, according to property records.
Built in the late 1960s, the hedged and gated residence has a free-spirited vibe. A main house with five bedrooms, a detached guest house, viewing decks, a swimming pool and a sunken courtyard fill the park-like grounds. A wooden bridge leads through mature trees, connecting the various parts of the estate.
Inside, some 2,800 square feet of open space features beamed ceilings, walls of glass, a library/study and a wet bar. A great room has a fireplace, and there’s also a gym.
Views take in city lights and the surrounding canyons.
Styles, 22, and One Direction rose to fame in 2010 after performing on “The X Factor.” The group has released five studio albums, most recently “Made in the A.M.” last year, and have twice been named the American Music Awards’ artist of the year.
