Guess jeans’ Armand Marciano lands in Thousand Oaks with $6.5-million home purchase

Armand Marciano, co-founder of the denim brand Guess Inc., has followed up his off-market sale in the Beverly Crest-area with a purchase in Ventura County, buying an estate in the Lake Sherwood area of Thousand Oaks for $6.5 million.

The Mediterranean-style estate, built in 2002, sits on about an acre with a swimming pool and spa, a covered pavilion, a bocce ball court and an outdoor kitchen/wet bar.

Entered through a double-height foyer, the 8,380 square feet of living space features a great room, a wood-paneled game room with a wet bar, a home theater and a dining room with a temperature-controlled wine wall.

Hand-painted frescos, box-beam ceilings and four custom stone fireplaces highlight the interior.

The master suite has a large soaking tub, a walk-in closet and a balcony for a total of four bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.

On the main level, a row of arched French doors opens to a covered patio with a dining area and a fireplace. Formal landscaping, rolling lawns and rose gardens complete the setting.

Jordan Cohen of RE/MAX Olson & Associates represented both sides of the transaction, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Messages left for Cohen were not returned.

The purchase comes after Marciano sold his estate in Beverly Hills for $32.67 million last month in a deal that closed outside the Multiple Listing Service. On and off the market for years, the estate had been listed for as much as $63 million in 2012 and $54.5 million two years ago., although those figures included more acreage than what sold.

Built in 2001, the three-story home has 25,000 square feet of living space with 10 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and 12 powder rooms/bathrooms.

A mosaic-tiled swimming pool, a pool/guest house, a tennis court, a pavilion, orchards and fountains make up the gated grounds.

Depending on your gossip column of choice, the buyer was either pop icon Elton John or British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams.
