Longtime Hollywood Hills estate of late writer Gore Vidal is for sale
The longtime home of writer Gore Vidal is on the market in Hollywood Hills at $5.695 million.
Set on close to half an acre in Outpost Estates, the 1929 Mediterranean features hand-carved fireplaces, decorative ironwork and original tiles. A two-story entry topped with a wood-beam ceiling leads to a living room with a fireplace and French doors.
A paneled library, a formal dining room, an office, five bedrooms and four bedrooms are within the 4,782 square feet of living space. There’s a detached guesthouse.
Views take in the surrounding canyon.
Vidal, who died three years ago at 86, was a novelist, screenplay writer, political commentator and essayist. Among his more than two dozen novels were “Lincoln” and “Myra Breckinridge.”
