Reports: Microsoft to unveil Office 15 details Monday
Reports say Microsoft will unveil the Office 15 software suite on Monday.
The company will reveal the latest changes and additions to its Office programs, including Word, which is a cash cow for the company.
While there are conflicting predictions over whether Office 15 will be exclusive to Microsoft products or make a move to the iPad, other rumored details are a little more consistent.
Office 15 is expected to launch early next year and, not surprisingly, it’s expected to be tailor-made for Windows 8, which is Microsoft’s upcoming operating system that is set to launch in October. That means Office will be enhanced for touch screen capabilities.
However, Office 15 is not expected to be supported by older versions of Windows. Rather, the latest in Office is expected to function only on Windows 8 and Windows 7, according to USA Today.
The Windows 8 integration is also expected to affect Office 15’s design. Office 15 will have “bold, basic colors, and square edges” just like Windows 8, PC World reported.
Web and cloud integration is also expected. Office 15 is expected to function with Facebook, Flickr, Hotmail and SkyDrive, according to PCWorld.
Tune in Monday for the official details.
