Annual list of L.A. billionaires grows
Viacom Inc. Chairman Sumner Redstone and investor Kirk Kerkorian, chief executive of Tracinda Corp., are among the 38 billionaires living in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s annual survey of the 50 richest Angelenos.
Redstone, 81, topped the list with $8.3 billion, followed closely by Kerkorian, 87, whose net worth jumped $700 million to $8.1 billion. Barbara Davis is a newcomer on the list, occupying the third spot with $6.4 billion after her husband, Marvin Davis, oil tycoon and investor, died last year.
This year’s Los Angeles Business Journal list contains 10 more billionaires than last year and 20 more than in 1999.
