RESTAURANT CLOSURE REPORT

The environmental health division of Orange County’s Health Care Agency performs routine, unannounced inspections of the county’s more than 11,000 restaurants, markets and other food establishments. When conditions violate state law or applicable county and municipal codes, inspectors can issue notices of violation. If inspectors find during an announced recheck that conditions have not been corrected, they can effectively close the business by suspending its health permit. Health permits are reinstated as soon as the situation is corrected. Here is a rundown for January:

* Restaurant: Donuts 2000, 1077 Harbor Blvd., Anaheim.

Dates closed: Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

Reasons cited: No hot water.

* Restaurant: Brew Baker’s, 7242 Heil St., Costa Mesa.

Dates closed: Jan. 3. Not reopened as of Feb. 6.

Reasons cited: Operating without a health permit.

* Restaurant: Dae M Young OK, 14250 Culver Drive, No. B, Irvine.

Dates closed: Jan. 3. Reopened the same day.

Reasons cited: Sewage spill.

* Restaurant: Mezzanine at the Towers, 19800 MacArthur Blvd., Irvine.

Dates closed: Jan. 8-9.

Reasons cited: Sewage spill.

* Restaurant: La Pizza, 907 Ocean Ave., Seal Beach.

Dates closed: Jan. 17-18.

Reasons cited: No hot water, no back door.

* Restaurant: Hyang Chon, 12921 Fern St., Stanton.

Dates closed: Jan. 17-25.

Reasons cited: Noncompliance with previous Notice of Violation and Notice of Decision.

* Restaurant: IHOP, 15122 Goldenwest St, Westminster.

Dates closed: Jan. 24-26.

Reasons cited: Rodent infestation.
