2 Men Held After Cocaine Is Seized
Two men were arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of possessing nearly half a pound of cocaine, a Ventura County sheriff’s spokesman said.
Kadmuda Walker, 26, of Los Angeles and Frederick Walles, 24, of Compton were arrested about 2:20 a.m. after deputies found the drugs, the official said.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Terry Hughes saw two men acting suspiciously near a gas station at Moorpark Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, the spokesman said. When he went to investigate, the men jumped into separate cars and sped away. After a short pursuit, the cars were stopped on the Ventura Freeway at Westlake Boulevard.
The two men were booked into Ventura County Jail and their cars were impounded, a jail spokeswoman said. Walker is being held in lieu of $20,000.
No bail was set for Walles, who has an outstanding parole violation, she said.
