Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza Strip after rocket barrage

The Israeli military said the air force struck 15 "terror sites" in the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City.

At least 10 people were injured early Thursday when the Israeli military carried out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip after Palestinian militants fired rockets into Israel, officials and medical sources said.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Ashraf Al Qidra, said several people were injured in the northern town of Beit Lahiya and taken to the hospital.

The Israeli military said the air force struck 15 “terror sites” in Gaza.

“The targets included weapons manufacturing sites as well as training facilities,” a military spokesman said.

Twenty rockets and mortar shells were fired from Gaza toward Israel, officials said.

The Palestinian militant group Hamas said in a statement that “Israeli occupation warplanes bombed at least 12 buildings across the Gaza strip.”
