Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DJ Quik to bring a Compton vibe to Las Vegas
Reporting from Las Vegas — Hip-hop artists Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, DJ Quik, Collie Buddz and Tha Dogg Pound are set to unite for a Thanksgiving celebration dubbed the West Coast Feast at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday, Nov. 27.
The event comes on the heels of “Straight Outta Compton,” a film that focused on West Coast hip-hop roots. The event is intended to spotlight artists who have collaborated with stars such as Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg, carrying forward the sound of those West Coast legends.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s hit, “Tha Crossroads,” was dedicated to the memory of N.W.A’s Eazy-E. DJ Quik is one of hip-hop music’s most consistent artists and musicians, with four gold and platinum albums and production work with Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg and Jay Z.
Tha Dogg Pound was part of Death Row Records’ empire, which cast a long shadow over rap music in the early-to-mid-’90s, and the group’s impression remained constant in the years that followed.
Dancehall darling Collie Buddz incorporates influences from hip-hop, soca and reggae music to craft his own unique sound.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 18, starting at $45.
Tickets: AXS, (888) 929-7849
