Now what are you going to do with the rest of your summer? The Carp-O-Rama Family Fishing Event scheduled for July 14 at Lake Maloney State Recreation Area south of North Platte, Neb., has been canceled because of a recent carp die-off . . . . On a lighter note, you can’t kill salsa. The annual Oxnard Salsa Festival is still a go, July 28-29 in downtown Oxnard. Parking and admission are free, but the Salsa Tasting Tent costs $5. The Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival returns to Tahoe’s Northstar Resort on July 14, with bluegrass bands and more than 30 local and regional breweries. Tickets are $38 at the door. Info here . . . . On the fashion front, Crystals at CityCenter in Vegas presents a display of archive gowns worn by celebrities over the past 12 years. Featured ensembles include a Christina Aguilera mini-dress, along with items worn by Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Charlize Theron and Heidi Klum. The exhibit runs through Aug. 3. Info: crystalsatcitycenter.com .... Hermosa Beach’s Tomorrows Bad Seeds plays Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip on Oct. 3. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased at the Hard Rock Cafe Box Office or at ticketweb.com . . . . Starting Aug. 4, and running for three straight Sundays, nearly seven miles of New York City’s streets will be closed off to traffic and turned over to walkers and cyclists.
