Earlier this year, the California Travel section of About.com opened a poll for readers to weigh-in on their favorite nude beaches in the state. Here are the Top 10 on their list as well as our recommendations for other things to do in those areas.
Location: On the southwest side of San Francisco Bay, (away from this picture) ideal for picnicking, sunning, walking or fishing against the backdrop of the Golden Gate (though pollution makes your catch not necessarily worthy of eating).
Location: The area’s unofficial (and illegal) nude beach, 2-mile-long Black’s lies between La Jolla Shores and Torrey Pines State Beach, at the base of steep, 300-foot-high cliffs.
Location: This state park just south of San Clemente and across the border in San Diego County offers serenity, seclusion and serious surfing. To get there from Los Angeles, take the 5 Freeway south through San Clemente.
