Key West, Florida celebrates Fantasy Fest
Revelers can be as flamboyant as they want during this 10-day Key West festival that includes more than 30 events, many of them centered on wild costumes. Among highlights: Captain Morgan Fantasy Fest Parade, with outlandish get-ups and floats; a costume contest for pets and their owners; and the Goombay Festival, a dancing-in-the-street block party.
When, where: Oct. 19 to 28 at various locations in Key West. Goombay is Oct. 19 and 20 in Bahama Village on Petronia Street. The pet-and-people masquerade is Oct. 24 at Westin Key West Resort & Marina, 245 Front St. The Fantasy Fest Parade is Oct. 27 along Duval Street downtown.
