Where to see costumes and guitars from the Oscar-nominated ‘A Star Is Born’
“A Star Is Born,” the Lady Gaga-and-Bradley Cooper-starring remake of the 1937 film, received a 2019 best picture nomination Tuesday. Fans who want to see costumes and props used in the movie should head to Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood in Burbank.
The behind-the-scenes tour added the display in November. Items from the 2018 film include:
► The blue gown worn by Lady Gaga’s character, Ally, when she goes up to receive a best new artist Grammy and is upstaged by her intoxicated husband, played by Cooper;
► Handwritten lyrics from the song “I’ll Never Love Again,” which Lady Gaga wrote with Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey and Aaron Raitiere; and
► Custom-made guitars used in the movie, including one used in a scene from the Bleu Bleu club.
“A Star Is Born” received six Oscar nominations Tuesday, including lead actress (Lady Gaga), lead actor (Cooper), supporting actor (Sam Elliott) as well as adapted screenplay, cinematography, sound mixing and original song (“Shallow”).
Also added to the studio tour are eight dresses from the film “Crazy Rich Asians” (2018), featuring the Missoni gown worn by Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) and the wedding dress worn by Araminta Lee (Sonoya Mizuno).
The tour of the 110-acre back lot in Burbank regularly features costumes, vehicles, sets and sound stages from the DC Universe (think Batmobiles and Wonder Woman’s sword) as well as popular TV shows such as “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory.”
The studio tour is open 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Tickets bought online start at $69 for adults and $59 for children 3 to 12 years old. SoCal residents can buy tickets for $54 per person when you purchase online and visit before June 14.
