Want off the beaten path? Head to Slovenia on a guided walking tour
The little-known Central European country of Slovenia is the focus of a new guided walking tour organized by Country Walkers.
Participants will explore the capital city of Ljubljana, between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea; stroll trails along the salt flats near Piran for bird watching; visit the 10th century church of St. Catherine on the island of Otok, and tour the Kobarid Museum with exhibits on historic battle grounds of World War I. Walking distance averages three to six miles a day.
Dates: Departures Sept. 7 and 21.
Price: From $4,198 per person; single supplement $748. Includes all accommodations, most meals, local guides, transportation, entrance fees and special events. International airfare not included.
