Giant kites, Day of the Dead festivities in Guatemala on this tour
Immerse yourself in Mayan culture and Day of the Dead festivities on a 10-day all-inclusive tour of Guatemala offered by Bella Guatemala Travel.
The highlight is the All Saints’ Day Giant Kite Festival on Nov. 1 at Santiago Sacatepéquez, in which participants honor the dead by flying large, colorful kites that depict religious, traditional and contemporary themes.
Other stops on the itinerary include Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage city; Lake Atitlán; and Tikal National Park and its archaeological sites.
A trip to a coffee plantation, a chocolate workshop and a visit with Maya weavers from a women’s cooperative round out the tour. Group size is limited to 16.
