National park tips: Don’t miss that other Grand Canyon. The one in Yellowstone.
There are easier viewpoints to reach in Yellowstone. But if your heart and legs are up to it, take the Brink of the Lower Falls trail along the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. The trail of switchbacks down to the falls is 3/8-mile long with a 600-foot drop — slow going on the way back up. But the path takes you to a perch just above the falls, with rainbows flickering as the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone spreads before you.
