Sure, Brazil goes crazy for Carnaval. But so does Mexico’s Mazatlan.

Did you say you like to party? You’ll get a grand opportunity this winter in Mazatlán, Mexico, where one of the largest Carnaval celebrations in the world takes place annually.

The Mazatlán celebration, similar to Rio de Janeiro’s big Carnaval bash and New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebration, features parades, parties and merrymaking. It’s scheduled for Feb. 23 to 28, just before Ash Wednesday, which in 2017 falls on March 1.

Visitors can get a taste of the action with the Casa Lucila Carnaval tour, which includes tickets for two to five Carnaval events. It includes admission to the King of Joy and Carnaval Queen coronations, the Floral Games cultural event and Banda at Olas Altas Beach, a waterfront concert.
