Want to give pole dancing a spin? Take a class or watch the pros at Pole Expo 2016 in Las Vegas
Pole dancing fitness fans can learn new moves and meet the pros when Pole Expo 2016 comes to Las Vegas from Sept. 7 to 11. Organizers estimate that more than 2,000 people are expected to attend the expo at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
The event emphasizes “the art, fitness, athleticism and competitive nature of the exploding sport,” a news release says.
Newcomers and fitness buffs can improve their skill level at a variety of workshops and seminars held throughout the expo.
Highlights include the Pole Classic Competition on Sept. 8, in which 10 women and 10 men will face off. First-place finishers in each category take home $1,000 and move on to the Pole Championship Series at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival next March.
On Sept. 9, the Hard Rock’s Vanity nightclub will host a pole-dancing comedy burlesque show. Tickets cost $39.
Single-day passes for the expo cost $79 while all-access passes cost $185 and include evening events. They can be purchased on the expo’s website.
In its fifth year, Pole Expo is the creation of local resident Fawnia Mondey, who operates the Pole Fitness Studio in Las Vegas.
